We caught up with Kyle Soltesz, one of the newest members of the Moleaer team, after his first industry event with us: the Car Wash Show. With conversations ranging from reducing freshwater use to improving drying performance, Kyle shares what stood out, what operators are struggling with, and why Moleaer’s nanobubble technology might just be the missing piece in modern car wash systems.
Q: Kyle, welcome to Moleaer! What was it like attending the Car Wash Show with the team?
Kyle: Thanks – it was a great way to dive in. There’s a lot of passion and innovation in this industry, and the operators I spoke with are hungry for practical solutions that improve performance without compromising profitability. Everyone’s trying to figure out how to make smarter use of water, reduce chemical use, and deliver a better wash, all without ballooning costs.
Q: What were some of the biggest pain points you heard from operators?
Kyle: One of the biggest themes was water, especially how to reduce freshwater usage while keeping throughput and wash quality high. People talked about tactics like re-nozzling and high-pressure stands, but they’re hitting limits. Many operators feel stuck between growing environmental pressures and aging reclaim systems that require massive upfront investment with questionable value in return.
There’s also a clear desire to reduce the use of soaps, waxes, and even salt from water softeners. Operators know these costs add up quickly.
Q: so where does Moleaer Nanobubble technology fit in?
Kyle: That’s the exciting part. Our nanobubble technology is a commercially viable solution driven by real reductions in water and chemical use – and it doesn’t require overhauling existing infrastructure. We can retrofit into almost any system, often with no downtime.
By integrating nanobubbles into rinse water, we can improve water quality, reduce surface tension, and leave cars noticeably cleaner and dryer. That alone became a huge talking point: a dryer car matters a lot to both operators and customers. By integrating into reclaim systems, we dramatically improve water quality and reduce odors, enabling freshwater reductions and reduced odors.
Q: How is Moleaer’s technology different from other water treatment technologies out there?
Kyle: Most reclaim systems rely on the same technology, packaged slightly differently – cyclonic filters and ozone injected through a venturi. Moleaer’s technology brings a new approach to the car wash industry, even though it has already been proven in thousands of water treatment applications globally, outside of car washes.
Our systems introduce oxygen or ozone (depending on the operator’s preference) through our proprietary nanobubble technology to deliver best-in-class gas transfer – keeping the oxygen / ozone in the water where it’s needed – and produces a high concentration of nanobubbles. This ultimately leads to improved water clarity by reducing suspended solids (TSS) and sludge, and maintaining an oxygen-rich environment that helps prevent odors.
What sets us apart is that our technology enables a different solids removal strategy, one commonly used in advanced wastewater treatment facilities, without requiring additional tanks or infrastructure. The key to a low-impact installation is understanding how the car wash was initially designed. At Moleaer, we don’t just offer a product – we provide a complete solution.
Q: Let’s talk ROI. How does this technology support financial performance?
Kyle: At the end of the day, operators care about their bottom line. They’re asking: How do I reduce water and chemical usage without sacrificing the end result? With Moleaer, the ROI is driven by data: lower costs for freshwater, soap, drying agents, and maintenance. And that’s not even factoring in the value of having site managers focused on customer service and membership sales instead of troubleshooting reclaim tanks.
Q: What if an operator just wants to dip their toe in — is there a “good, better, best” way to start?
Kyle: Absolutely. We offer scalable entry points:
- Good: Add nanobubbles to the reclaim line to reduce odors, hauling and pit cleaning costs.
- Better: Introduce nanobubbles into rinse water for improved cleaning and drying.
- Best: Build an integrated system that maximizes the benefits of nanobubbles to reduce freshwater usage by leveraging more reclaim water. It’s all about meeting operators where they are and helping them get quick wins while planning for long-term improvements.
Q: Final takeaway?
Kyle: We’ve already seen great results with operators across the country who have integrated our technology, and early adopters will be the clear winners here. They’ll be able to reduce water and chemical usage, lower maintenance, and offer a visibly better wash. That’s a powerful combination, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of bringing it to life with Moleaer.
