Shiny Shell Carwash cuts fresh water consumption in half with Moleaer's Reclaim+ nanobubble system
Shiny Shell Carwash is a fast-growing operator processing thousands of vehicles daily across multiple Pennsylvania locations. Their commitment to operational efficiency and water conservation drove them to look beyond traditional reclaim systems for a solution that could meaningfully reduce fresh water dependence, without disrupting daily operations or requiring major infrastructure overhauls.
In partnership with Moleaer, Shiny Shell deployed an integrated nanobubble retrofit across several sites, achieving immediate and sustained reductions in fresh water use. Based on the repeatable success of the solution, Shiny Shell is now rolling out Moleaer's Reclaim+ system across all of their East Coast locations.

Despite already having a traditional reclaim system in place, Shiny Shell faced a persistent challenge: the quality and consistency of reclaimed water limited how and where it could actually be reused in the tunnel. Fresh water demand stayed high, water and sewer costs continued to climb, and growing regulatory pressure from local authorities pushed the team to find a better solution.
Shiny Shell wasn't looking for another standalone piece of equipment. They needed a solution that would integrate seamlessly into existing infrastructure with minimal downtime, scale reliably across multiple sites, and meaningfully improve reclaim water performance so it could be reused in more applications.
Shiny Shell partnered with Moleaer, the global leader in nanobubble technology, to retrofit their existing reclaim systems. Installations are completed in a single day with no interruption to operations.

By introducing oxygen nanobubbles through a system designed and integrated by Moleaer, reclaim water clarity improved dramatically, BOD and COD decreased significantly, and total suspended solids (TSS) were reduced through enhanced separation. This made reclaim water reliable enough to reuse in additional high-volume wash stages, directly displacing fresh water demand.
Leveraging Moleaer's best-in-class oxygen transfer efficiency, dissolved oxygen levels jumped to >25 ppm within minutes, eliminating anaerobic odors that plague car wash operators across the country, especially in warm weather.
After installation at multiple sites, Shiny Shell saw immediate and sustained reductions in fresh water use.
At one site, fresh water use dropped by ~19 gallons per vehicle, saving over 2.5 million gallons of fresh water per year. At another site, fresh water use dropped by ~26 gallons per vehicle, a ~50% reduction, saving over 3.5 million gallons of fresh water per year.
"Moleaer's nanobubble technology has been a game-changer for our operations. Beyond the measurable water savings, their team brings technical depth and ongoing support," says Jeff Wood, CEO of Shiny Shell Car Wash
Achieving meaningful water reduction takes more than introducing the concept of nanobubbles.
It depends on correct application, system design, integration, and ongoing support. Moleaer's decade of field-validated experience and purpose-built solutions enabled Shiny Shell to move beyond reclamation limits and achieve scalable, repeatable results, proving that reusing wash water can be done effectively with the right process and technology.
