TITUSVILLE,Fla., Feb. 5, 2026 – The City of Titusville is partnering with Moleaer Inc. on a small-scale demonstration of the company’s patented nanobubble water-treatment technology at the Titusville Municipal Marina beginning on Feb. 12, 2026.
The installation is funded through private and business contributions, including donations from local business owner Laurilee Thompson, co-owner of Dixie Crossroads Seafood Restaurant and vice-chair of theTitusville Environmental Commission; Parrish Healthcare; Pinnacle; and Robin L.Fisher and Associates, Inc.; with support provided in partnership with the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of Florida’s Space Coast. The project represents another step in the City’s ongoing efforts to support the long-term health of the Indian River Lagoon (IRL).
The City has also partnered with Florida Tech and Brevard County Natural Resources to conduct pre- and post-project monitoring to measure the effectiveness of the pilot project and inform decisions on potential broader implementation within the Indian River Lagoon.
To mark the launch of the project, the City of Titusville will host a ceremonial media event, “Flip the Switch from Green to Clean,” onMarch 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Titusville Municipal Marina.
“This initiative reflects the best of who we are as a community — innovative, responsible, collaborative... [with] a deep commitment to safeguarding our natural resources for future generations” said Mayor AndrewConnors, City of Titusville.
“For four generations, my family has made a living in Brevard County in the seafood and tourism industries. The decline in IRL water quality greatly affects the commercial and recreational fishing industries and families that love our Lagoon,” said Thompson, who is a local conservationist as well as business owner. “This pilot project at the Titusville Marina could jump-start new technology solutions for improving the health of the Lagoon.”
“By bringing this small-scale demonstration of innovative water technology to the Marina, the city is positioning itself to lead on environmental restoration efforts here on the Space Coast,” said Lynda Weatherman, President & CEO of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. “The lagoon has always proven to be a significant economic contributor, and its restoration is a priority for enhancing this wonderful community asset. The EDC is proud to participate in this joint venture with local business and the City of Titusville.”
“When oxygen is low in a waterbody, sediments release nutrients that fuel harmful blooms, degrading water quality, and producing foul odors, which are conditions currently affecting the lagoon,” said Dr. Denise Devotta, Senior Limnologist at Moleaer. “Nanobubble Technology restores oxygen at the bottom, reactivating natural recovery processes and reducing nutrient release from sediments. This leads to improved water quality, a healthier ecosystem, and greater long-term resiliency. We’re committed to putting this technology to work to help restore a resource the Titusville community depends on.”
The IRL is designated by Congress as an estuary of national significance. It is the most biologically diverse estuary in North America, generating $14 billion in local gross domestic product, supporting 128,000 jobs and producing $8.3 billion in wages annually, according to a recent economic valuation report commissioned by the National Estuary Program.
Moleaer’s nanobubble technology is currently deployed in more than 4,000 installations across 55 countries and has been used to revitalize water quality at scale and provide solutions for lake and reservoir restoration. The company was recognized with the 2022 Water Project of the Year award at the Global Water Awards.
This project demonstrates that together, our community is shaping a shared legacy that celebrates the natural beauty and economic vitality of Florida’s Space Coast. For more information, go to Titusville.com/Water-Quality-Improvement-Pilot-Project
