October 21, 2026 – Andfjord Salmon has decided to continue its partnership with Moleaer and implement the company's nanobubble technology in additional production pools at its land-based salmon farming facility in Kvalnes, Andøya. The decision follows positive operational experience during the current production phase, in which the technology has been integrated into the facility's flow-through system.
Andfjord Salmon's flow-through system combines the advantages of traditional sea-based aquaculture with the control and biosecurity of land-based systems. Stable water quality and efficient oxygenation are critical to ensuring fish welfare and optimal operations throughout the production cycle.
Moleaer's nanobubble generators are integrated into the technical infrastructure supplied by Cflow for production pools K1 and K3. As Andfjord Salmon prepares to bring K2 and K4 online, the technology will also be incorporated into these pools.
According to Cflow, the interaction between the various components of the water treatment system is essential to achieving the desired results.
For Moleaer, the new contract represents an important validation of the technology's ability to deliver value in one of the world's most ambitious land-based aquaculture projects.
"The best proof of a solution's effectiveness is when a customer chooses it again. Andfjord Salmon has been a forward-thinking, knowledge-driven partner, and we are proud to contribute to the continued development of the company's production concept," says Inge Haarberg, Business Development Manager, Aquaculture at Moleaer.
Andfjord Salmon has reported strong biological performance, industry-leading survival rates, and solid growth throughout the current production cycle in the pools operating at Kvalnes, Andøya.
"Our focus is on building a production system that supports fish welfare, stable biological conditions, and efficient resource utilization. Our experience so far shows that Moleaer's technology contributes positively to oxygen management and operational stability," says Christian Torgersen, COO of Andfjord Salmon.
